Unexplored Scotland was founded in 2008 and from the start the mission was to make outdoor trips something special and different. Like everyone who likes the outdoors, we like to have a bit of fun too. Everything we do has safety, fun and learning in it. That order seems a good balance to come back from our trips and want to do more.
The Scottish Highlands includes some of the most remote areas in Western Europe. The weather can often change dramatically and unexpected and the terrain can be from rolling hills to steep ridges and cliffs within a short area.

The Scottish winter mountains can offer some of the most challenging and rewarding outdoor experiences. The mountain conditions in the winter can sometimes change radically and unexpected, which can make winter mountaineering even for the most experienced a testing experience. It always helps to have knowledge on how to plan and execute a day’s winter mountaineering.
